There is a common downfall to a lot of books about artist materials and technique- lots of empty and meaningless words or difficult language. You try to read them and your mind wonders. This manual is filled with almost everything one needs to know from a technical standpoint.
Its always nice to have it at hand as a reference when you forgot something or need to find out info about specific material. This was delivered very fast and is in excellent condition. A classic book for the serous artist or art student studying the techniques of the old masters, if you do want some good study material this is it :.
You can find almost any painting technique plus use of materials in this books. Wehlte has done a supurb job in his research of the materials of the painter. He has taught his subject for a great many years ,so his advice is very valuable.
I bought this book when it was first published. The book has increased in cost since then. If you are a serious artist you will not be disappointed by this great book. The decimal organization will be different for U. S artists. Regarding "The Materials and Techniques of Painting" by Kurt Wehlte, It's a wonderful source of information, but when I saw that cadmium pigments are listed as "not poisonous" I had to wonder how acurate all the other information in this book is.
Maybe it's time to find a newer source. Go to Amazon. Back to top. Get to Know Us. Shopbop Designer Fashion Brands. Alexa Actionable Analytics for the Web. DPReview Digital Photography.
